Born in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico, Dr. Ramirez-Camarena immigrated to the United States as a young child with her family, settling in the agricultural community of Salinas, California. Surrounded by strong role models, like her grandmother who labored in the fields for 25 years and her mother who worked tirelessly to provide for her children, Dr. Ramirez-Camarena learned the value of determination and rising to one's full potential.

As a first-generation college student and professional, Dr. Ramirez-Camarena embraces her bicultural identity - both influenced by her Mexican heritage and her upbringing in the United States. She built her educational foundation at Hartnell Community College before earning her Bachelor’s in Psychology from CSU Monterey Bay. She then went on to complete a Master’s degree and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University.

With a calling to serve the Latin community, especially Spanish-speaking families, Dr. Ramirez-Camarena focuses her bilingual practice on children and families affected by trauma and adversity. Having specialized in the impacts of trauma and stress on childhood development, she aims to break detrimental cycles that can pass suffering on from one generation to the next in underserved communities.

Outside her vital work, Dr. Ramirez-Camarena remains connected to her creativity through writing poetry, her spirituality through mindful walks with her loyal companion Mira, her culture through dance, and her overall wellbeing through strength training. At her core, she exemplifies the rewards of determination and channeling one’s talents to uplift community.
